Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 18,338 vehicles in June, down 4 percent versus 2012.

For the first six months of the year, TCI sales were 97,176, down 0.9 percent versus the first half of 2012

Some of Toyota’s hybrid models fared well in Canada this previous June, with the Camry Hybrid finding 378 new owners (up 21.2 percent), the Prius c scoring a June record of 324 units sold (up 19.1 percent) and Highlander Hybrid sales reaching 89 units (up 15.6 percent).

June represented a record for trucks with 8,716 units sold, up 12.6 percent versus 2012, leading to the new all-time best first half of the year for TCI truck sales with 45,299 trucks sold, up 10.7 percent.

It’s the RAV4’s fifth consecutive best-ever month, meaning a new record has been set each month the all-new model has been on the market. For the first half of the year, RAV4 sales were 16,660, up 36.3 percent.
