Daimler’s Smart city car brand has teased a new concept car ahead of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new concept was teased on Smart’s social media channels over the weekend. The company provided very little info on the concept, but captioned a teaser photo of the car with: “The future starts here: the smart vision of urban mobility for tomorrow.” A previously released statement indicated the car would be the first Daimler product to “comprehensively embody” its CASE corporate strategy, which stands for ‘Connected’, ‘Autonomous’, ‘Shared’ and ‘Electric’.

Daimler also said the concept will represent “maximum mobility efficiency in and for the urban environment thanks to systematic further development of the carsharing concept,” and will “make the vision of individualized, highly flexible urban public transport a reality.”

From the sounds of things, the concept will be fully electric, fully autonomous and built for some type of car sharing or ride hailing service. The teaser seen here reveals it will feature a large, digital screen where the grille would normally be that will be used for displaying messages to other cars or passersby.

The Smart concept will be shown in full later this week before its Frankfurt debut on Sept. 14. It will be presented alongside numerous other new models from Daimler including the Mercedes-AMG Project One and a new environmentally-friendly Mercedes EQ concept vehicle.
