Skyactiv Technology vehicles accounted for 66 percent of all Canadian Mazda sales in August.

Mazda Canada announced sales for August 2013 totaled 7,077 units, which represents an increase of 5 percent compared to August 2012.

Total year-to-date sales of 49,957 are down by 2 percent versus 2012.

Mazda Canada said sales in August were led by the compact Mazda3, with 3,916 units sold. Over 60 percent of all Mazda3s sold in August were equipped with Skyactiv Technology, which also accounted for 66 percent of total vehicles sold in August.

With total sales of 1,939 units, the 2014 CX-5 once again broke its previous best monthly sales record for the third time in 2013, increasing the year-over-year sales by 130 percent and is up year-to-date 61percent compared to 2012.

Year-to-date sales of the Mazda6 sedan are up 16 percent at 3,391 units.
