A front-wheel drive Nissan Leaf is not normally the kind of car that gets adrenalines addicts to think about drifting, but Nissan found a way at the British Drift Championships.

Filed under the Anything For Publicity category, Nissan provided Autocar with an otherwise stock Leaf – right-hand drive, of course, being in the UK – with an advantage to let it get sideways with the Skylines and other tire smoking RWD ICEmobiles.

These are plastic tires. Ordinarily this would be a treacherously bad idea – kind of like giving the rear wheels traction equal to slick pavement – but it did the trick.

The video shows the details. Enjoy.
