Nissan’s Leaf has now doubled its Canadian sales year-to-date, when compared to May 2012.

The Leaf found 31 buyers during the month of May 2013 in comparison to 23 in May 2012; this brings the 2013 year-to-date sales of Nissan’s electric car to 235 units, which represents a 100.9 percent increase in comparison with the 117 units sold between January  and May of 2012.

The Nissan Sentra was the strongest seller in the line-up with 1,716 units sold, a 74.9 percent year-over-year increase.

Meanwhile, the all-new Pathfinder SUV had its best May since 2002 with 539 units sold, up 381.3 percent from May 2012.

“The popularity of the Nissan Sentra and Pathfinder is a clear indication that our focus on providing relevant innovations resonates with consumers, and we expect that to continue when the new Versa Note arrives later this month,” said Christian Meunier, President of Nissan Canada Inc.
