Toyota announced yesterday that it will showcase an “exciting new concept for road and track” at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The concept sports car will feature Toyota’s Hybrid System-Racing (THS-R) technology.

The THS-R technology has been used in the TS030, Toyota’s FIA World Endurance Championship car, which achieved second place at this year’s Le Mans 24 hours race.

More information on the concept will be available in the coming weeks… We expect Toyota will slowly leak info up until the September ten official release in Frankfurt.

Many believe this is Toyota’s answer to Honda preparing a rebirth of the NSX sports car.

It is of course too early to say when this sports car concept will see production and if it will or not be part of Toyota’s Prius hybrid family.
