Honda’s stellar but priced-higher Accord Hybrid has only sold at monthly levels of around a quarter to a third of the Camry Hybrid this year, but part of this may be due to a backlog.

According to Wards Auto, intenders for the $30,000-$36,000 car are having to be put on a waiting list.

The car is built in Marysville, Ohio, but the battery comes form Japan and this has reportedly constrained supply.

From October through February, the automaker sold 2,414 Accord Hybrids.

These cars can hit very high mpg numbers if driven with even modest care. Official EPA city rating is 50 mpg, highway is 45, and 47 is the combined figure.

We’ll have a full review for this car later today.
