Owners of electric cars in certain region of the UK will be granted a free charger.

POD Point is offering free home charging units to electric and hybrid vehicle owners in East Anglia, the East and West Midlands.

POD Point is considered the UK’s leading electric vehicle charging company.

The POD Point charge point is the Solo 2, the latest “smart” communicating charge point, with in-built GPRS technology that allows two way communications between the charge point and online account, enabling electric and plug-in vehicle drivers to monitor how much energy they use, remotely lock the charge point or set charging schedules from a laptop, PC or mobile phone.

The POD Point charge points will be installed using a grant from the government’s Plugged-In Places scheme, and the offer is available to electric or plug-in vehicle owners in Source East and Plugged-in Midlands regions.

The fully installed charge point can be installed in the home or workplace, and is subject to a free site survey.

Also, electric and plug-in car owners living within the M25 can apply for a free home charging unit if they take part in the Low Carbon London electric vehicle usage trial, exclusively offered through a partnership between POD Point and UK Power Networks.
