mini cooper hybrid?

does anyone know if they plan to develop a hybrid mini cooper? i saw that an italian company can convert them to a plug in hybrid but the cost is quite high.

I'd guess you'd sooner see a diesel version than a hybrid... but I could be wrong... I doubt we'll see either near future...
