66 mpg - Best in 2003 Insight

I have similar results with my 2000 Insight. About 75 MPG is fairly easy at 55-62 MPH on level ground around sea level. 80 MPG requires more work and concentration. My best was 105.8 MPG drafting a long 18 wheeler in very steady traffic on a warm evening.

What is a realistic lifetime MPG for a 2002 or 2003 CVT? 45ish?

Why can't we have a manual transmission? I've got 2004 Civic hybrid w/5sp manual & get 50-55mpg. CVT won't approach this mpg. Look at the above comments to see mpg diff between manual & CVT in Insight.
