In our company, we are facing a peculiar problem. The number of emission ECUs in the Plug in Hybrid vehicle has crossed 8, and the emission IDs are not enough if you go with 11bit OBD ID. And ISO 15765-4 suggests to go for 29bit IDs. This needs lot of design change. The alternate idea is to go for master and slave structure to restrict the number of ECUs under eight. Does this structure is in compliance with European and North American markets? I知 struggling to find the concrete answer or I知 knocking the wrong doors.( I知 not sure if this is the right forum to discuss this technical question. )
