jerky power application when going at a steady speed
I have a 2001 CVT Insight. The jerkiness has been intermittent, but it's getting worse. Any idea what the cause may be? Joan in VT.

The solution, it turns out, was...
...replacement of the EGR valve. My theory is that it was chuck full of carbon from almost 100% city stop and go driving. I hope this info helps someone else out there. J

You have a well documented
You have a well documented problem with the egr valve.
Read all about it on the Insight Owners Forum at this link:
http://www.insightcentral.net/commun...php?f=2&t=7666
I removed and cleaned my valve with carburetor cleaner two years ago. I may have to do it again in a few months, but it's far less expensiive than replacing the valve.
Every Insight owner should check out www.InsightCentral.net because it is THE authoritative site for this vehicle. I've saved thousands of dollars on my 2000 Insight that is now at 120K and going strong. (Lifetime average MPG = 62.5)
Good luck.

I agree. The EGR valve clogs
I agree. The EGR valve clogs up. I have about 104K on my 2000 Insight MT with a very similar 62.9 MPG lifetime average.
