Telefonix has unveiled the first commercial charging station equipped with a retractable reel for the charging cord.

Telefonix is showcasing its L1 PowerPost commercial electric vehicle charging station at the International Parking Institute (IPI) Conference and Expo June 1 through June 4 in the greater Dallas area.

Telefonix, Inc. describes itself as a developer of cord reel technology and technological solutions primarily for highly regulated industries.

The L1 PowerPost electric vehicle charging station is, per Telefonix, the first commercial grade Level 1 electric vehicle charger with patented retractable cord reel technology. The company stated the same proven cord reel technology that flies on the majority of the world’s airlines is now designed and incorporated into the L1 PowerPost EVSE.

L1 PowerPost chargers are currently installed in a parking garage at Denver International Airport and in an outdoor parking lot at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.

The IPI Conference and Expo annually hosts more than 2,500 professionals from the parking and transportation industry.  The event is considered the largest networking and educational event in the world for parking and transportation professionals.
