UK’s Salon Privé event announced a new addition to the show for 2013: a stunning and unrivalled-in-the-UK collection of hyper cars which will include at least two hyper cars using electric technology.

The first manufacturers to sign up to this new collection with their hyper cars include Pagani, Koenigsegg, McLaren and Exagon Motors.

This special lawn section, in addition to the Concepts and Prototypes collection and 70 other sports, luxury and super cars on the front lawn, the 100 Concours entries on the back lawn, together with the luxury brands village, RCA design exhibition, and Art and Memorabilia Fair elevate, according to the event’s organizers, Salon Privé to the premier exclusive automotive show in the British calendar.

Limited to a maximum of six models per model-year in the collection, this year’s two currently known hyper car entries propelled by some form of electric power are as follows:

McLaren P1 (pictured)

McLaren’s plug-in hybrid hyper car is the only British representative on the first Salon Privé Hyper Car Lawn.  Only 375 units will be built; its top speed is 230 mph, powered by a 3.8-liter V8 that develops 903 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. In electric mode the car also has a zero-emissions range of 12 miles at 31mph before the gasoline engine fires up.

Exagon Furtive eGT

A full electric entry from France’s Exagon Motors, the Furtive eGT is capable of a 155 mph top speed and reaching 62 mph in 3.5 seconds. The vehicle is powered by two water-cooled electric motors developing 148 kilowatt-hour each, for a total of 402 horsepower.  The car is capable of 223 miles of urban driving on a single charge of its lithium-ion battery.

The complete list of entries will be announced shortly.

Approaching its eighth year in 2013, Salon Privé takes place from September 4 to 6 at West London’s Syon Park.
