In 2014, Chinese multinational Wanxiang Group bought the assets of Fisker Automotive and in Sept 2016 revealed the 2017 Karma Revero plug-in electric hybrid in Huntington Beach, Calif.

The $130,000 Revero starting price is nearly $30,000 more than the original starting price of the Fisker Karma. However, the car comes fully loaded with the only options being wheel choices, exterior colors and interior trim.

The Revero’s styling is largely the same as the original, penned by noted car designer Herik Fisker. The low-slung exterior receives some slight alterations, most notably the diamond-shaped vents below the grille.

On the technical side, the plug-in hybrid powertrain is just like the Fisker.

A General Motors Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine serves as a range extender powerplant. It generates power for the lithium-ion battery pack that provides electricity for a pair of electric motors.

System output for the rear drive sedan is 403 horsepower and 981 pounds-feet of torque. That’s enough to scoot the car from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, quite good for a car weighing a substantial 5,400 pounds.

This one sells for $130,000. More cars are expected form the aspiring automaker.
