Remember Bentley’s on-again off-again SUV project?

It has been given the go-ahead and Bentley Motors released March 19 the first picture of the yet unnamed Bentley SUV, due to hit roads in 2016.

Shown in concept form as a hybrid and rumored to eventually be powered either by diesel, hybrid-diesel, hybrid-gasoline or simply a regular internal combustion engine, not much is known about the end product.

Bentley stated it will be the most luxurious and powerful SUV on the market, setting it apart from any other SUV, true to the brand hallmarks of luxury, performance, quality and craftsmanship.

Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive at Bentley Motors, stated during a press conference in London: “It will create a completely new segment in the SUV market.”

The picture with the SUV blasting out of a sand dune is not very revealing, aside from showing the SUV will share the brand’s familiar grille complemented by round headlights. Following are pictures of the concept, then named EXP 9 F, rumored to be close to the end result in appearance.
