Yes, hydrogen production uses more energy than electricity production, but hydrogen-fueled vehicles have advantages in other areas, such as in the ability to refuel quickly and longer range capability. Where today’s PHEVs have ICEs, tomorrows PHEVs will have fuel cells along with an electrical energy storage system.

I always find the rigid and aggressive aversion to fuel cells exhibited by EV enthusiasts to be very strange.

The hydrogen cars should be banned since cracking the hydrogen from water using gas or electrolysis causes you to get half the energy back than what you put in. Net energy loser….
