A new video of the Tesla Model X provides a 360-degree walkaround of the all-electric SUV, giving viewers a sense of its proportions and layout.
With a seven-passenger capacity and a third-row seat, the Model X will be one of the larger all-electric vehicles on the market.
The video shot at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas shows both the traditional front doors and gullwing-style doors for the rear passengers. Windows in the tops of the doors provide a panoramic view for passengers in the second and third rows. As the videographer walks past the rear of the Model X, he captures its shortened rear glass above the stout trunk.
Inside, the clip reveals white trim and matching upholstery. A full-color display makes up the driver’s instrument panel, and a tablet-sized screen in the center stack operates the infotainment system.
As a dual motor all-wheel-drive, the Model X positions an electric motor in between the front wheels, with a second motor between the rear wheels. This design keeps the center of gravity lower than other SUVs, says Tesla.
Tesla is offering the Model X both with a 60 and an 85-kilowatt-hour (kwh) battery. Drivers can also choose from two different drivetrain options: Model X or Model X Performance. Estimates on range and other specs haven’t been released.
