Toyota Offers More NS4 Plug-In Hints

NS4

Toyota has been playing the media game well, first by distributing a teaser photo last month of the headlight from its mysterious NS4 plug-in hybrid concept, and now by making sure every outlet gets a link to its teaser video.

So for your uninformed viewing pleasure, we present all that the maker of the Prius family is willing to divulge until next week’s beginning of the Detroit Auto Show where the veil will finally be thrown aside.

Whether the NS4 will slot in as the athlete in the Prius family, or sport some other form of next-gen Toyo technology will be one of the questions inquiring minds want to know.

If it does have Prius DNA, maybe it will make use of the Plug-in Hybrid’s 1.8-liter engine, 80-horsepower motor and 4.4-kwh lithium-ion battery pack supplying as much as 15 miles of all electric motivation.

The official photo shows its eyes will have blue in them with LED accents, make use of accident-avoiding “Adaptive Driving Beam” technology, and its interior will also be laden with high-tech features.

If you are interested as the company’s marketers intend you to be, stay tuned. Toyota will make sure to fill us all in real soon.

Iran could be the EV’s black swan. High oil prices should lift all plug-in’s and EV’s.

Iran has sealed their own fate, which is a doomed fate. The Ayatollah has always made the wrong strategic choices when it comes to Iran’s security in particular it’s energy security. It may well have a couple hundred billion dollars in reserve, but that’s going to go awfully fast once it has to spend it on propping up it’s economy. Iran has a huge population that is in it’s teens to early 30′s who are unemployed and restless. It’s an implosion just waiting to happen.

Anyway, back to the article. This article doesn’t help me at all. It has no real information that tells me what I need to know. Guess I’ll be waiting for the Detroit auto show to find out what Toyota has to unveil. I just hope it’s a hybrid that is even more fuel efficient and sporty than the current line up of Prii. I know. That may be too much to ask. A guy can wish can’t he? :-)

Eric – Altought toyota is not known to have expensive cars considering what you buy, a plug in is always expensive.
