were of individuals misinterpretation the gas and brake, and obtaining paid from “above” to complain.

The government is not requiring Toyota to recall vehicles. The company will send letters to owners later this month. Drivers then have the option to get the window switch fixed.

“We’ll bring them in, we’ll inspect the switches, put the proper lubrication on it,” say Chuck Baker with Haley Toyota, “It’s about an hour fix and it will be at no charge to the customer.”

James Potter owns a 2007 Yaris which is included in the recall. He plans to get it fixed as soon as possible.

“I’ll take advantage of it,” says Potter, “I’ll follow up on this because I don’t wanna take any potential chances. It would be very unnerving to have any type of smoke billowing up from the window well.”

Potter has never had any problems with his Yaris but he says it’s better to be safe than sorry.
