This Tesla free supercharging promo is cool. Somewhat similar to "Sun Country Highway's World's Longest/Greenest Highway Project". SCH has a network of strategically placed chargers coast to coast in Canada of 90 amp stations that are free public access (but to all EV owners with SCH). When the Supercharger was first announced, Tesla Motors recommended that Supercharging should not exceed 2% of the use of the vehicle. That has changed since they have tested it according to my "Delivery Experience Specialist." They are Supercharging some of their vehicles daily to determine how it affects the battery.

Now they feel that Model S can be supercharged much more often, but not everyday. The Supercharger communicates with the car and monitors battery health and temperature to adjust the charge to maximize battery longevity.

They highly recommend that the SOC limit should be set to not exceed 90% for optimium battery health. The driver can set it to 100% if needed. With Supercharger stations about 150 miles apart, the 90% setting will work great with a 85 kWh model.
