As Tesla Motors branches into Canada, a market about one-tenth the size of the U.S., it will open its fourth retail store and service center in Toronto tonight.
This will be the second retail location in Toronto – the other is in a mall in Yorkdale – and the addition of a state-of-the art service center will set this one apart.
Tesla has stores also in Montreal and Vancouver, and unlike U.S. stores being opposed by auto dealer associations, these have reportedly met with no opposition.
The company sells factory direct, and prefers to control the experience from start to finish.
As it is with other Tesla stores, the new one in Toronto will have built cars and a stripped skateboard chassis on display, plus interactive info screen at the store and non-commissioned associates to answer questions.
The address of the new store and service center is:
1325 Lawrence Avenue E, Toronto, ON M3A 1C6
The Grand Opening ceremony will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
