Tesla's skateboard chassis design will help Tesla develop more models and variants quicker than many other established car makers. Tesla will be able to respond to market changes rapidly. I look forward to the pick up truck. Would be nice if they bring out a van in the future (something that competes against the VW Transporter T5 or Mercedes Vito - I can then transport my Electric Go Kart to events easily.

In relation to the battery "issue" (which is clearly documented in the Roadster owner's manual), I was under the impression that Tesla made it more fool proof from the Model S on wards.

Too bad Tesla is apparently continuing to use its impractical battery technology. They will regret the coming avalanche of negative feedback when they put more of their user-unfriendly, capital depleting vehicles in the hands of those mainstreamers not willing to excuse the car's battery deficiencies. Tesla is getting way ahead of what current battery technology allows. It is simply not economically practical. Just the battery alone sitting in their Model S costs $15,000 (their costs) more than the entire cost of their projected BMW fighter. Get real, Tesla.
