At the end of last month, aspiring global start-up Tesla Motors announced the first right-hand-drive Asian-market Model S deliveries and latest-tech Superchargers to Hong Kong.
Its media-covered event at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on Wedneswday July 23 saw eight new car keys handed out to early adopters, including at least one previous Tesla customer.
“Tesla has completely redefined what an electric car can be, and what can be achieved with zero emissions,” said Dennis Lo, a Tesla Roadster owner.
Tesla has two Supercharger sites to start with, and plans to grow the network. Jerome Guillen, Tesla’s vice president of World Wide Sales and Service spoke to a crowd of hundred on hand to amp up the buzz.
“We could not be here without you,” Guillen told the crowd. “It is really meaningful and we appreciate your commitment to helping us with our goal, which is to accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.”
