Honda Civic Hybrid

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted anywhere here (unless I missed it).

The date for the court hearing to accept or reject the settlement is set for March 16, 2012. I understand and agree that the offer settling the low milage issue is pathetic, but there is another major part of the settlement that involves a lot of money and is very mportant to those of us with IMA battery system failures, check engine and IMA lights on, etc.

I am curious to hear from people who own Honda Civic Hybrids and what they are doing with respect to accepting or opting out of the class action settlement. Lots of news lately about this regarding a small claims case in the news - take a look at www.dontsettlewithhonda.org to find out more.

Hi, i have a Hybrid Honda civic 2009, 40000km.

since i have it, i tracked the gaz consumation and realised that it is different from what the sales guy told me. Even if i totally change the way of driving.
Anyway gas in town was more close to 6.5L/100km and at 100km/hr on the high way... not muh than 5.8L/100km

i tryied everything, but the result was much better the week after a oil changed. (close to 5.8 in town)

So since i'm tracking it a lot !!! and i farely know my car... last month it progressively start comsuming at 10L/100km.

I new to the Honda hybrid and for the last 2 month ever thing worked good. I did not drive it for 2 weeks. I let me brother drive it being from out of town. He loves the car. I ask how do you like it turning off the engine at stop lights? He says It's has never don't that. I drove it to night and he was right.

I have honda civic hybrid 2007. my brake system indicator comes on and goes off after couple of seconds. is this normal please??

I have had the P1166 CEL for a while, and finally bought and installed the Primary (right after the exhaust manifold) O2 Sensor. Fixed that.

Then a P1491 came up regularly. I removed and cleaned the EGR with Thrust Starter Fuild,
Re-installed with the original gasket (it looked fine). Now, when I start the car it dies within 2 seconds.
I removed the positive battery terminal for 30-60 seconds, re-installed it and it seemed fine for 2 starts,

Hi Everybody,
I have this Error Code:
P0404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance

Google says that I have to replace the EGR valve, but actually I need to know first if it is really damaged.

Does anyone know if it is normal that I am unable to press down the valve?
Because I already watched some videos in youtube showing the way to clean the valve, but those valves in the video can be easily pressed down, and I cannot press down my valve (I don't know if it is activated by electrically)

Hi,

I am looking to buy a used HCH and went to test drive on the other day. When starting to move it "jolted". It felt like someone dumped the clutch on a standard. (its an automatic). It did this basically ever time I started to move from 0mpg.

Also i noticed when i started to slow down and gently touched the brake it would jolt in the same manner.

I asked the owner and he told me it was a normal hybrid thing and starting was because it was switching between gas/electric and then slowing down was to charge the battery.
