Toyota Prius
A Toyota Hybrid is great way to express caring to our Earth.
However, the higher models only come in LEATHER.
LEATHER IS NOT ECO, IS TOXIC, UNCOMFORTABLE, CRUEL!
Put pressure on Toyota to offer NON-LEATHER Prii!
LEATHER IS EXTREMELY NOT ECO. Takes tremendous amounts of water, fuel, food, land, energy, waste and pollution to grow cows for food and leather. Believe it or not, Eco-wise you are actually better off being a Vegan Hummer driver than an omnivorous Prius driver. I WANT MY HIGH END NON-LEATHER PIRUS. And I am NOT alone. Ed Begley is a Vegan too.
I am in a business class and our group project is to create an environmentally friendly car wash. Would you please take a quick survey helping us obtain some data. Just follow this link.

The hybrid cars are way better in CO2 emissions (i.e. in fuel economy) in downtown traffic compared to conventional cars of same weight.
In the hybrid car the thermal engine operates only from time to time (at optimum – as regards economy and emissions – conditions, like 3500 rpm and 80% "open throttle") to charge the battery.
Toyota just announced a major recall of several brand names of their cars including Prius.
Seems the floor mats are a little oversize, and there is a possiblity of the accelerator pedal getting stuck under the floor mat, causing the car to run wild at full throttle.
After all the issues with fuel tanks and headlights, our Priii are being recalled for...
Defective Floormats?
This is an intermittent problem. So will be hard to get the dealer to look at it unless I have some other corroborating stories....
I want to thank all of the owners of hybrids. I drive an F250 Ford Diesel pickup truck. I mean this thing is huge. God bless you all for saving fuel for me to burn. You are great.
Hi, all.
Where do you take your Prius for service, the dealer or a neighborhood shop? I ask because I just plopped down $300 at the dealer for the 15,000 mile service. I've always gone to the dealer so far because I've assumed they know the Prius best, but I have to admit $300 for service is annoying. Any opinions? Thanks!

I was delighted to get the 2010 Prius' handsfree system for making phone calls. After setting everything up, I discovered several distressing problems.
1) In order to be understood, I had to speak loudly and very clearly.
2) Each word in a phrase (Call by name, etc.) must be separated by a brief silence.
3) I could hear the people I called clearly, but they couldn't hear me well. Must thought the sound was muddy. This occurred even if the car wasn't moving and both the fan & A/C were off.
Has anyone else had these problems (especially 3)? If so, how was it resolved?
Thanks;
Stan
I have heard or read that the new Prius with the roof PV panel is strictly used to power either a fan or AC unit for cooling the car/batteries. Can anyone confirm this?
I think the fact that your car's inside will be more comfortable even after sitting in the sun all day is great and I have read that keeping the batteries from over heating is important but I would imagine that some of the power can also be feed to the batteries from time to time as well.
Anyone have details?
