]]> Yesterday Toyota reported that its all-electric SUV, the RAV4 EV, saw 32 units sold in November, making for a total of 140 units sold since the California-only market zero emissions compliance car went on sale in September.

A RAV4 hybrid may be Toyota’s next solution to providing an environmentally friendly SUV that possess a trustworthy model legacy – and perhaps potential to sell more units per month as well.

Following the unveiling of the 2013 RAV4 at the Los Angeles Auto Show last Wednesday, Toyota’s RAV4 Deputy Chief Engineer Yoshikazu Saeki told AutoExpress that creating a RAV4 hybrid “would not be difficult to do.””

“We are watching the market,” said Saeki. “After introducing the new RAV4 we will see. There will be a possibility of introducing a hybrid RAV4 and we will respond to what the market wants.”

A RAV4 hybrid would join the larger Highlander hybrid that’s available in some markets.
