Do you live on the East Coast and had wanted to park a Tesla Model S in your driveway, but weren’t quite ready to head west (or have one shipped) to get one?
As Tesla Motors prepares for first Model S deliveries June 22, the company’s 22nd worldwide location will be its first on the Right Coast, and is located in the The Westchester shopping center in White Plains, New York.
Tesla Motors says it is “reinventing the car-buying experience with its unique retail model.”

Daimler’s Japanese commercial vehicle subsidiary, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), has started selling its Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid truck in Japan.
The light duty truck, which celebrated its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 2011, will also be introduced by Fuso in Europe and other international markets in the third quarter of this year.

Today Nissan confirmed it will begin European production of its all-electric e-NV200 – the third of four electric vehicles known to be part of its plans to proliferate EVs in a variety of segments.
A couple of the other EVs you also may know – the Leaf, launched December 2010, the Infiniti-branded LE concept luxury sedan introduced at the 2012 New York Auto Show that could compete with the Tesla Model S, and a fourth EV could be a small urban commuter for younger drivers.

He’s at it again. Having set the record for the fastest time to ascend the infamous mountain, Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima has set another challenge: conquer Pikes Peak in record time with pure electric power.
This past weekend, his new steed, dubbed the Monster Sport E-Runner was revealed at Toyota’s Mega Web (essentially an automotive theme park) in Japan.

Volvo is becoming the first manufacturer to offer a pedestrian airbag. This feature will be offered on the newly-launched V40.
In China 25 percent of traffic fatalities are pedestrians. In Europe the figure is 14 percent and in the USA it’s 12 percent. A far larger number of struck pedestrians are injured. The most serious head injuries involving pedestrians and cars are caused by the hard structure under the hood, the windshield's lower edge and the A-pillars.
