Smart is transplanting the DNA of its existing design language and engineering into the next-generation ForTwo and For Four and a teaser video gives lots of hints.
It’s possible the new cars will be fully revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but in the interim – based on past precedent of smart’s tendency to tip its hand – the new cars are growing and other details are also likely to be seen as shown in this video.
Expect width and length to increase and a two-box design as used in most modern sedans.
Hexagon shapes and loops are a feature echoed inside and out, and, well, the video shows the rest.
Likely powertrains for both the ForTwo and ForFour will be a 105-horsepower direct-injected three-cylinder. The Smart cars share their platform with the Renault Twingo.
