I am a Taxi driver – driver a courtyard and mostly in city – loanblend is a win success here. I said it a long time ago: it should be a direction – Taxi carriage must be hybrids – it is less expensive for everyone including taxi drivers + 2 times less imported oil + 2 times less CO2 emission. As we can see some taxi drivers still not able to toe that out – then it must be a law.

For deep pocket ppl or company this plan worksout. Not for a single taxi owners. Need to govt. announce some subsidies for Taxi operators so that the cost of these cars comes down and make them affordable.

Before we hold a victory parade, some things to bear in mind:

1. A cab company still has to pay twice as much, or more, upfront for a hybrid than a conventional car. You need bigger loans for fewer cars. The extra $7.50 a shift is catch-up money, except that you never catch up, especially when banks are pulling back from loans rather than increasing them.

2. If your company has depended upon gas profits for part of its revenue, that revenue may decline to the point that it becomes a loss.

3. As hybrids reach 200,000 miles on San Francisco's hills, their gas mileage begins to resemble that of conventional cars.

4. Meanwhile, as costs increase so does competition from illegal operators unconcerned about mandates, fees or regulations.

All Taxis should be converted to run on CNG or Hybrid, they can earn the return on investment much faster than a private vehicle.
