Despite all roadblocks, Washington state is getting many EV charging stations. Nationwide there are 9,000 stations now.

If any state wants to charge like that for EVs, then they should charge Tolls according to vehicle weight instead of Flat Tolls, since heavier vehicles apply more stress on roads.

Infact a company called Weigh In Motion (WIM) has scales which can find vehicles weight when it comes near Toll booth.

Shines - I totally agree. While I really would like an electric, paying $50,000 for the Rav4 EV - while the non-electric Rav goes for only $25,000 just doesn't make economic sense. I'm hoping Toyota will come in with a subsidized price initially, to spur adoption.

Shame on Washington State for planning to charge early adopters of electric cars a road use fee (in lieu of gas taxes). When most states are giving incentives to encourage buyers into pricey electrics, WA is fighting the trend and throwing up roadblocks.

An electric car that only accelerates as fast as its gas counterpart is not going to perform well. Given the nature of electric motors, its acceleration should be at a higher rate unless the motor is really seriously underpowered.
