Luxury, sporty, fast care mixed with hybrids is a failed concept.

There is no target group for these. People concerned with the environment won't by such a sporty fast car and people how can effort this type of fast sporty car don't care about the environment too much. You can't have an efficient fast sporty care (maybe you can have one that is a tiny little bit more efficient than the 'normal' version, but not good enough).

Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid weights about 5000 pounds and has 333 HP. The Ford Edge checks in at 5200 and has 305 HP. According to Edmunds the Porsche gets 20/23 MPG not 21/25, and the Edge gets 18/25 (EPA has 17/23). I am not sure the VW, excuse me Porsche engineers did all that great of job with the hybrid system. It looks to me like the hybrid system buys you 2 to 4 MPGs city or 15% and nothing on the highway.
