In the 1 March ’09 annals of hybridcars articles, you can find discussion of the original Porsche hybrid (said to be Porsche’s second car), and I believe that concept is just over a century old. The google search engine helped locate the article.

I want one! I will have to rob a bank. Actual, at that price, I'll probably have to rob several banks!

But to be serious, this is the way hybrid technology needs to move. Some of the things done in this car will trickle down into the Prius, Civic, Golf, and other everyday hybrids for the rest of us.

But Workhomeunion is absolutely right - this is a gorgeous piece of automotive art and engineering!
