I’m leaning very heavily in buying my friends 2007 Prius. I’ve driven 347 miles in it so far and I’m averaging 50.5 mpg (mixed city/hwy). We all know that gas prices are going to go up. What we don’t know is how soon and how much. I don’t want to be caught with my pants down when it happens and find myself scurrying to find an overpriced hybrid. Especially when I could buy my friends for $14k with low mileage.

I would say that any smart analyst should be a a peak oil alarmist.

I am just wondering how linked energy prices are? If oil goes to $300/barrel how much will my electricity for my EV go up?

There are only so many solar panels I can put on my roof before I run out of space.

Still buying my leaf though as it is the best hedge I have available (after my bicycle).
