60 MPG is not only reasonable for auto makers, it is very, very conservative. In the Bay area auto show, set for October 9th, there will be a car that can get 763 MPG and the kit Taylor, the owner of the car, developed to get that kind of millage costs $12,000.00...e-mail him, he will tell you all about it. The auto makers can start mass producing that kit and bring the price down and they will not have any excuse for not getting that 60 MPG in even less time that is being granted to them now. In fact, they can even give all of us the 763 MPG that Taylor is now getting on his car.

Check out the article; it's right here on this magazine, http://www.hybridcars.com/news/bay-area-first-green-car-expo-set-oct-9-28527.html

Hi Peter,
Great set of videos -- very practical.

We have been on a somewhat similar plan -- somewhat different motivation, but same kind of program.
I think you may find some new ideas you've not tried yet -- I know I found some from your videos:
http://www.builditsolar.com/References/Half/Half.htm

All the projects we used with results for each listed here:
http://www.builditsolar.com/References/Half/Projects.htm

Since this is a car site, I'll mention that the single most effective project was our Prius:
http://www.builditsolarblog.com/2010/09/our-prius-goes-over-100k-miles-savings.html

I think this proposed move to 60 mpg is very doable -- would love to see a serious attempt to get there.
