Question about HAH turning off in Neutral

So, i'm sure, like many of you. i have found it very annoying that when i pull into a parking spot, my HAH turns off by auto stop. but when i put it in park to turn it off and take the key out, it turns back on! no don't turn on! i'm about to turn you off!

well i've been just putting the shifter in neutral to turn it off, and then i push it up to park and take the key out. i see no reason why this should hurt anything.

does anyone care to elaborate or put your say in? is it ok to do this? if it is i would undoubtedly encourage it!
