Both the Versa sedan and hatchback tout a deliberate urban design, minus the quirkiness of the Fit, Yaris, and xD. But because the Versa is significantly larger in every direction, it looks a little clumsier and less sophisticated than its smaller counterparts. It is a full foot longer than the Fit, and a foot-and-a-half longer than the Yaris. On the flip side, it has more road presence than most other subcompacts, which are typically invisible to drivers of larger trucks and SUVs.
To match its more massive outer shell, it wears noticeably large headlights, taillights, and an extra long wheelbase of 102.4 inches, which is the key to its superior ride quality. Furthermore, the Versa hatchback’s wedge-like shape, short overhangs, and wide stance, give the car an athletic and spirited appearance.
The Versa hatchback weighs in at a beefy 2,693 pounds. That’s 250 pounds more than the Fit, and 400 pounds more than the Yaris.
For a higher level of performance styling, the Versa SL models offers a Sport Package which includes a rear spoiler, lower body side sill extensions, and fog lights.
