With Atlanta being a very important market for the Leaf EV, Nissan is making efforts to help make charging available at more workplaces in the region.
According to Nissan, Atlanta is America’s top market for sales of the Leaf.
Through a new partnership funded by Nissan and Georgia Power, local employers can receive a $1,000 rebate for each 240-volt, Level 2 charger installed – $500 from Georgia Power and a matching $500 from Nissan. Nissan added its matching contribution expands an existing Georgia Power EV charger rebate program for businesses that was introduced in 2014.
The Nissan matching rebate is available through June 30, 2015.
To qualify, companies must have 100 or more employees and the facility must be in the Georgia Power service area.
“While most EV drivers plug in at home overnight, workplace charging enhances the Leaf ownership experience and expands the number of miles a Leaf driver can go on power produced here in Georgia,” said Brendan Jones, director, Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure Deployment, Nissan. “Nissan is investing to support charging both in the community and at the workplace for the thousands of Leaf owners in Atlanta, and Georgia Power is a great partner who shares that commitment.”
According to Nissan’s data, Atlanta is America’s best market for the Leaf and second city in the country for overall EV adoption, trailing only San Francisco.
