Diesel - Lithium - Plug-in with regenerative braking is the answer. The latest batteries are without heavy metals, the latest diesels are clean and exceptionally efficient.
Do you know that Toyota and Honda have only replaced a couple of Hybrid batteries world wide since they have been introduced. The U.S. auto makers will not make any money on the parts of these vehicles. There is more money in parts than in the vehicle them selves. I'm sure they will make a way for the U.S. made vehicles to fail more often then the Japanese companies, just watch.

Buying less gas means less tax to the feds and states for highway projects. This is a major source of revenue for senators to bring pork back to thier states . This is why we have been led to think V8 power is the way to go.

Bart, You meant Chemicals not CHAMICALS, right?

Second, What do oil companies and Batteries have in common? What does chemicals(Hydrogen?Lithuim?) have to do with Oil compaines? Dont Oil compaines make gas, oil, petrolium jelly? If an electric car is run on batteries, would the OIL industry not be interested on it, or Who is going to go to their gas stations?

HYBRID TECHNOLOGY "MIERDA DE CABALLO" (HOSESHIT). THIS REMINDS ME 4WHEEL STEERING TECHNOLOGY. BACK IN THE 50'S GERMAN (VW) EXPERIMENTED WITH IT AND BACK IN LATE 60'S THEY EXPERIMENTED WITH HYBRIDS, AND IS NOT WOTH (TOO MUCH MONEY).
WHAT WE NEEDS IS DIESEL LIKE IN EUROPE. FOR EXAMPLE FORD SELLS DIESEL FOCUSES THAT MAKE 72 MPG AND POLLUTE LESS THAN GAS ENGINES. PRICE FOR HYBRID BATTERIES 8,000.00 US DOLLARS.
THATS WHAT OIL COMPANIES WANTS, CAR COMPANIES TO BUY CHAMICALS FOR HYBRID BATTERIES FROM THEM.
HYBRID'S A LOT BOLONY.
Americans are actually in control of their future. They just need to get their heads out of their ass. When it come to the the changes in attitudes that are needed to make the market changes to sell good fuel efficient vehicles. Americans will not stick their necks out when purchasing a new vehicle. They are just nervious about buying anything new so they bad mouth them so they seem smarter than the engineers bringing them to market. They just keep getting screwed by the oil corporations who are foreign owned also. I think they really enjoy getting screwed. We have too many people who think they are the only people who know anything about vehicles coming to market. They don't work in the development portion in any automotive companies yet they are all experts in the automotive field.
