If you drive an electric vehicle, can get to Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway this June 30, and want to push your vehicle to the limits on the famous track very inexpensively, the fifth-annual Refuel event may be worth looking into.
The “clean power motorsports event” charges just $10 for a gate fee, $20 for a transponder to time laps, and is open to production and custom cars, carts and motorcycles.
Last year KleenSpeed’s WX-11 led all with its purpose-made racer with a 1:32:046 lap time, but also participating in the fun and camaraderie were a host of Teslas, Nissan Leafs, BMW ActiveEs, Codas, not to mention two-wheelers like the Zero S and Brammo Empulse RR.
The event is organized by Speed Ventures along with Monterery County.
No experience is required, but naturally a waiver must be signed and a Snell 2005 or later certified helmet – available for rent if you don’t have one – is mandatory, as are full leathers for motorcyclists.
