Of all the American cities I’ve been to, New York may be the only one that already has the infrastructure in place to make public transportation a convenient alternative for everyone. If congestion pricing and government funding help to improve systems like the metro to the point that they can actually compare to New York’s subway system, then I’m all for it.

Seeing this side of the argument just puts me on the fence about it. I don’t go into DC often but could see it being a burden.

But even places like DC still need better public transportation. B/c if I take the metro into town it would take a little over one hour. I drive maybe half an hour. If they improved the rail system outside of dc (and inside) I would take it more often but otherwise it much more of a hassle for me.
