Nissan reported June Canadian sales of 8,889 units, a decrease of 10 percent from last year.
The Nissan division sales totaled 8,196 deliveries, down 10.1 percent, while Infiniti deliveries totaled 693 units, a decrease of 8.3 percent over 2012.
Sales of the new Sentra compact shined in June with 1,721 units sold, an increase of 31.9 percent over 2012.
June also maked the first deliveries of the all-new 2014 Versa Note, which is expected to reinvigorate sales of the Versa in the coming months. Nissan sold 915 Versa, mostly sedan, which represents a drop of 35 percent compared to 2012.
The Leaf also saw a decrease of 35 percent of its sales, down to 13 units in June 2013 (20 in June 2012).
“The redesign of our core products such as Altima, Sentra and Pathfinder continues to drive sales in our Nissan dealers,” said Christian Meunier, President of Nissan Canada Inc. “The arrival of the all-new Versa Note, the fourth of five all-new core models for Nissan, has been much anticipated and will keep our showrooms busy this summer.”
On a side note, the lighter, more fuel efficient Pathfinder saw deliveries rise 269.1 percent to 598 units sold. So far in 2013, Pathfinder sales are up 212.6 percent, exceeding the sales total for all of 2012.
