CNG is an excellent, domestic, cheap, and clean "bridge fuel" to cover us (i.e., the USA), for the next decade as we transition from crude to pure e (just like hybrid tech).

Like it or not, battery/capacitor technology is not where it needs to be for MOST Americans to consider buying an electric car. Accept that, get over it, and move on.

As more and more public CNG fuel stations get built over the next 3 years, CNG hybrids are the optimal intermediate step for a cost effective, low-impact (i.e., low impact on US car buyers/drivers), clean and efficient vehicle.

In the mean time, as battery tech matures, improves, and comes down in price, hybrid tech will progressively increase its market penetration, and PHVs will get higher capacity batteries (for the same price), which will progressively increase their all e range.

Imagine a CNG Prius or a Volt w/a CNG onboard generator -- super efficient, super clean.

As I've suggested before, I'll suggest again: hybridcars.com needs to add a category for CNG vehicles (right now just Honda's Civic), in their Dashboard
