Great car for me as I can commute in EV mode and don’t have to rely on finding charging stations when on a road trip. I wonder if this PHEV has 3rd row seating or if the space for stowing a 3rd row is taken up by the rear wheel inverter-motor combo. The ICE version has a 3rd row for kids I believe. Does anyone know?

One article guessed the price would be north of 30,000 pounds or $48,000 US dollars. Perhaps a comparison with the Lexus 450h is in order?

The Prus PHV European CO2 emmision was also estimated at 49g/km, so yet another indicator this great concept will get about 45 MPG.

Bring it on. Twin motor, series and parallel, all looks great. Lets hope that this will be a break-thru product for Mitsubishi.

As the gas prices have increased last month, trucks have gone down while the small cars have gone up.

Meanwhile Ford C-Max launched around Sep 21st have clocked 969 unit sales in just 10 initial days. We can expect C-Max to be the final competitor for Prius.

I think I missed the MSRP for this great sounding vehicle. If the 12 Kwh battery software allows routine usage of 75% (9kwh) and it gets 3.5 miles per kwh in EV mode, then its EV range figures to be about 30 miles.

Since this vehicle appears to be larger and heavier than the C-max, which gets 47 EPA MPG, it would be very surprising if the Outlander got better than 45 MPG. Time will tell.
