Infiniti

As the upscale brand of Nissan – which is pushing hard in the EV space and less so in the hybrid space – Infiniti has a couple hybrids on offer to the U.S. Its Q50 Hybrid is a performance luxury car evolved from the M35h which in 2011 blazed a 13.9-second quarter mile. Its QX60 Hybrid SUV is now a four-cylinder based hybrid, still powerful, for the needs of multi-occupant drivers. Infiniti has shown advanced all-electric and hybrid concepts foreshadowing intents, and for a while it appeared it would be facing off against Tesla with a luxury performance EV, but so far that has not happened. Sooner or later it will, we suspect, but meanwhile green cars from Infiniti are qualified prospects cross-pollinating high power with improved efficiency, and choices are limited.
