I would think and hope that the gov't and automakers could realize the best case scenario for powering vehicles is bio-diesel hybrids and full elec plug-ins. The diesel engine supplies comporable gas milage, a more usable power band, longevity compared to gasoline engines, and can burn a cleaner fuel, esp if we mass collected used frying oil. The plugins are perfect for urban commuting. SAve the need for outlets at the local mall or shop. So when can this standard be set, and what's getting in the way? Toyota and GM seem to not let anything stand in the way. Let's move on from technology we harnessed back in 1901.
