Summary: A pair of Ford SUV hybrids have been certified for tax credits under the government’s Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit.

The Internal Revenue Service says the 2005 Ford Escape two-wheel-drive hybrid is certified for a credit of $2,600, while the four-wheel drive model for the same year is certified for $1,950. The tax credit applies to vehicles bought on or after Jan. 1 of this year.
