Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI

The Jetta Sportwagen TDI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct 
injection engine that grants 140 horsepower, 235 pound-feet of torque, 
and around 44 miles per gallon. With the combo of power, style, and 
fuel efficiency, VW hopes to appeal to a new generation of American 
drivers that have not been jaded by the dirty old diesels. Volkswagen 
stirred excitement among those young drivers with the Sportwagen 
unveiling in 2007—but soon after, the car’s March 2008 release in 
North American markets was indefinitely postponed.
