When it comes to Electric cars, I think I have my Eyes on the "Chevy Volt". I find its specifications very interesting and I think it will suite my budget.

Seriously, how much gasoline is wasted stopping for toll booths, then accelerating back up to speed? The Sierra Club should lobby to outlaw them.

Yes, you will pay it if you're about to run out.

The good thing is that Illinois is charging this much because the state is in such dire economic straits that this extra cash will go towards paying down the billions of dollars in debt that it owes, right? That's what they said when they sold the parking meters to a private company to manage. It would pay down some of the debt at no cost to the people. And I'm sure the state income tax that just went from 3% to 5% will go back down in a few years as they have promised us.

Oh wait, that didn't or won't happen. Just looks like another way for the state of Illinois to rip it's people off...again. Just ask our two former govenors. You can't because they're both in jail!

All thanks to our corrupt Illinois politicians.

$7 for an 80 mile charge is a bit high but you'll pay it if you're about to run out of juice in a pure EV/Leaf....

$21 for 45 mins. of charging?

Seems a little expensive.

It costs me $45 to fill up my Prius and I can get 480 miles.

So if you get 80 miles in your Leaf in for a 15 min. charge then 45 mins. will get you 240 miles (3 charge times). So for $44 you could get 480 miles. Well you save $1 vs. me for the same # of miles and I only spent 10 mins. filling up vs. 1hr. and 30 mins. the EV guy spent recharging.

Seems to me I still have the better end of that stick.
