A List of Hybrid Sedans
The first hybrid to hit the market was the original two-seat Honda Insight. Immediately, critics branded all hybrids as small and impractical. But that was back in 1999. Fast forward to today, and you'll find a long list of roomy sedans—including hybrids, diesels, and E85 flex-fuel cars—that comfortably seat five, offer plenty of storage, and all the amenities of gas-guzzling rivals. And let's not forget great gas mileage and reduced emissions, which is the point of a hybrid after all.
This photo was taken after a $860 shopping trip to Ikea. Two adults, a baby in carseat, his stroller and all the Ikea purchases, all fit in a Prius—which is considered a family sedan. Even smaller sedans, such as the Honda Fit, offer more interior space than first meets the eye. (Photo by milele via flickr.com/creativecommons.
